World War 1 trenches

Homewoods have supplied over 20,000 chestnut rods to a contact in Belgium, who was working on the reconstruction of  the Bayernwald German trenches at Wijtschate, Ypres Salient. The rods were used to create the trench sides – described as “woven wickerwork branches”.
